At the heart of the Hinton Admiral Estate, The Retreat New Forest is a restorative space, offering friendly and transformative classes, workshops, day and residential retreats.
Launched in June 2019, The Retreat is aimed at anyone who wants to step out of the everyday rush of life and take time to focus on their wellbeing in body and mind.
Once the dower house for the estate, this lovely Georgian building is set in an expanse of gardens and woodland, with a beautiful lake, secret walled garden and miles of idyllic forest walks. It has the feel of a home-from-home, and was once the playground of the ‘original’ Alice in Wonderland, who was a family friend.
Expect to find: various different forms of yoga, tai chi, gong baths, Reiki, Qigong, Women’s Circles, Mama/Baby yoga and massage, holistic therapies, drumming circles, Dog Gong, Cacao Ceremonies, Conscious Clubbing, forest bathing, Mindfulness - and our super-popular plant-based pop-up restaurant days.
The Retreat is also the perfect place from which to explore the New Forest and Jurassic Coast: fifteen airy and luxurious bedrooms are available via Airbnb. While you stay, take advantage of the various classes and retreats on offer, and spend time in nature, rambling through our private woods. For breakfast, enjoy award-winning locally sourced jam from Naked Jam (with ingredients from our walled garden); Holy Cow’s award-winning granola; Green Label Chef’s oat power-balls; and Bournemouth-roasted ethical single estate coffee from Bad Hand Coffee.
The Retreat New Forest actively encourages everyone to join in on the journey to their best health in body and mind – whatever their age or ability.
