The Hovercraft Museum is the only one in the world dedicated to this unique concept. The collection consists of approximately 60 hovercraft, ranging in size from single-seat fun craft to giant SRN4 that used to operate across the English Channel.
Particularly interesting exhibits include a James Bond film hovercraft and a 12-seat hovercraft restored by Channel 4's 'Salvage Squad'. In addition there is a large collection of historic static and radio-controlled models and an extensive archive. A museum shop, refreshments and cinema provide the complete visit.
The museum is open every Saturday (and some Wednesdays during the summer holidays). Visitor entry to the museum is via the slipway gate on Marine Parade West only. No access via Daedalus Park/Chark Lane traffic lights.
* See the Hovercraft Museum's website for opening days. Visits may be made throughout the year by appointment only.
