About
See Southampton is a not for profit organisation operated by a group of independent tour guides and volunteers who run historic and fun walking tours in the city, provide speakers on local history topics and manage a welcome desk for cruise ship passengers. With our partner, Supernatural Tours, we offer costumed Ghost Walks.
We have been operating for four years during which time we have received Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence and Highly Commended and Silver Awards from Tourism South East.
See Southampton works very closely with other heritage providers in the City and can offer discounted entry to museums and heritage attractions for people joining our walks. Our highly professional top award winning guides are members of the Institute of Tourist Guiding or members of respected local history associations. See Southampton is a member of the British Guild of Tourist Guides and Tourism South East. Our guides come from all walks of professional life and include a retired diplomat, a linguist, retired education managers and local government officers all easily recognised in their red jackets.
Public tours are run every Saturday and Sunday at 1.30 throughout the year and we can provide private walks by arrangement for groups, schools and individuals. These include Southampton and the Titanic, Southampton at War, Maritime Southampton, Southampton and Jane Austen, the Story of the Spitfire plus many, many more. Tailor made walks for groups can be quickly arranged.
Mayflower 400 is the anniversary of the Sailing of the Mayflower from Southampton. See Southampton is supporting preparations for this important event and we are recognised as the leading tour guiding organisation in Southampton for our walk "Southampton and the Mayflower" available for individuals and groups and run in association our partners the Mayflower Heritage Guides.
Unless otherwise stated all of the walks start by the Lions at the Bargate in Southampton's High Street.
