Step aboard and set sail into history at our 2025 Pontoon Open Weekends at Boathouse 4!
Once a month, we invite you to explore our operational vessels, meet our passionate volunteers, and uncover the fascinating stories behind these extraordinary boats.
2025 Pontoon Open Weekend dates: April 26 & 27 May 10 & 11 June 7 & 8 July 26 & 27 August 23, 24 & 25 (Steam Special- Event details to come soon October 25 & 26 What to Expect: -Our operational boats will be open for you to explore, with volunteers ready to share their knowledge. -F8 will be running 20 minute trips, on both days, around the harbour at £10 per person (Pre-book your spaces to avoid disappointment by emailing Boatbookings@portsmouthhq.org or book on the day with a Visitor Host)
Times: 13:00, 13:40, 14:20, 15:00 & 15:40 -MGB 81 will be taking passengers out for an hour boat trip, on both days, with individual tickets available to purchase at £130 per person (Pre-book your spaces to avoid disappointment by emailing Boatbookings@portsmouthhq.org or book on the day with a Visitor Host) Time: 15:00 -HSL 102 will be taking passengers out for an hour boat trip, on both days, with individual tickets available to purchase at £100 per person (Pre-book your spaces to avoid disappointment by emailing Boatbookings@portsmouthhq.org or book on the day with a Visitor Host) Time: 13:00 -
Step aboard 1940's steam boat VIC 56 and explore with a knowledgeable volunteer guide. -Our friendly volunteers will be on hand to assist and answer any questions. Whether you're a maritime enthusiast or looking for a unique day out, the Pontoon Open Weekends offer an unforgettable experience. Mark your calendars and join us for a voyage through history! Entry is free with a 'Historic Quarter Pass' (available at the Visitor Centre). This pass grants access to the Dockyard site, excluding ticketed attractions.
