Cycling in Portsmouth

Portsmouth is perfect for cycling as it is flat; easy to navigate has some lovely scenic rides along the coast.

The city has ten colour-coded cycle routes to guide cyclists to different parts of the city using quieter roads which are more suited to less confident cyclists

Portsmouth is also the start or end-point for the 50 mile Shipwrights Way which links villages and towns in East Hampshire with Alice Holt Forest in the north which was where oak was grown for Tudor shipbuilding.

The nearby 12 mile Salterns Way and Hayling Billy Trail are wonderful easy ways to explore neighbouring coastal areas.
