Admire daffodils in their prime
A welcome primaveral vision of bright yellow, daffodils bring a joyful addition to March and there are many places in Hampshire to admire their happy hues.
Head to one of Hampshire’s gorgeous gardens to admire daffodils in the prime during March like the Daffodil Meadow and the River of Gold at Exbury Gardens, or head out on a walk to spot daffodils along the way like the Jane Austen Circular Walk in the pretty village of Chawton.

March is a month for coming out of hibernation and lots of new arrivals in nature. It’s a wonderful time of year to visit a Hampshire’s wildlife attractions to see some animals in the spring sunshine. Visit Sky Park Farm to see deer, New Forest Wildlife Park for otters and many diverse animal species, Marwell Zoo for hundreds of exotic and endangered animals, and Hawk Conservancy Trust for birds of prey.

Have a Hoppy Easter at Paultons Park
Bouncing in at the end of the month, Hoppy Easter at Paultons Park promises to put a spring into the new season from 30 March to 10 April 2026. With all the thrilling rides to enjoy at Tornado Springs, the Lost Kingdom, and Peppa Pig World, there will also be the chance to meet the adorable Bobtail Bunny and Betty Bunny.

Easter is early this year, meaning that the Easter holidays, and many egg hunts and activities, begin at the end of March.
The chocolate-fuelled Easter fun gets off to a cracking start with National Trust Easter trails at Mottisfont, Hinton Ampner, and The Vyne from 21 March 2026; an Egg-citing Easter Adventure at Birdworld from 28 March 2026, and the Winchester Bunny Hop Easter Trail from 28 March 2026.

Bask in the beauty of blossom
March also marks the beginning of blossom season and Hampshire has plenty of places to admire nature’s pretty confetti displays.
One of the loveliest is The Vyne near Basingstoke where the apple, pear, and plum trees growing in its traditional orchard bud candyfloss-like blossoms in March and April, framed beautifully by the historic brickwork of its walled garden. Enjoy the wider estate at The Vyne with a walk along some of the trails in its surrounding woodland.

Locomotive legend the Flying Scotsman will be paying a visit to The Watercress Line this March with a programme of special events to celebrate the occasion, offering visitors a rare chance to enjoy a series of unforgettable experiences with one of Britain's most celebrated steam engines.
Events will take place from 10 to 21 March 2026 and include Breakfast & Afternoon Tea Experiences, Days out with the Flying Scotsman, and Static Display Days.

Paddle into spring this March with New Forest Activities’ canoeing on the Beaulieu River. As well as the usual land and water activities there are special events in March including the Mother's Day Paddle to the Pub on 15 March 2026 and Canoe Easter Egg Hunts starting from 28 March 2026.
See Diversity in Portsmouth
The UK dance group sensation Diversity will be bringing their new concept tour, Soul, to Portsmouth Guildhall on 24 and 25 March 2026.
The tour is based around the technological advancements of artificial intelligence, what the future holds, and what it truly means to be human within the digital age.
Cruise down to Disney and Pixar Cars at National Motor Museum, Beaulieu

Experience Van Gogh Alive Winchester at Winchester Science Centre
It’s the last chance to step into the world of Van Gogh this March at Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium with Van Gogh Alive, with the immersive art installation in situ until 22 March 2026. This multisensory experience brings the artist’s masterpieces to life through light, sound and movement, giving you the sensation of being amongst his paintings.

Catch the 'Hop into the wild' family trail, inspired by Disney and Pixar's "Hoppers" at Hinton Ampner until 9 March 2026.
