Experience the Legendary Flying Scotsman at The Watercress Line – 10th - 21st March 2026
This March, The Watercress Line in Hampshire welcomes the iconic locomotive Flying Scotsman, offering visitors a rare chance to enjoy a series of unforgettable experiences with one of Britain's most celebrated steam engines.
Flying Scotsman was built in 1923 by the LNER and named after the London to Edinburgh express service she was built for. In 1934, she was the first locomotive to officially reach 100mph. She was withdrawn from service in 1963, after 40 years of service.
In 2004, she was purchased by the National Railway Museum, and restored to working order in 10 years, costing £4.2 million.
