Planning a grand day out for a special occasion or visiting Hampshire for your hols?  These top treats make for a most memorable day out for around £30. We’ve got lots of ideas for £30 or less and a few that come in just over the £30 price mark in our budget-friendly guide – all of them are guaranteed to give great value entertainment and enjoyment.

Things to do for £30 or less...


Beaulieu

A ticket to Beaulieu provides access to an entire assortment of attractions: The National Motor Museum, World of Top Gear, Palace House & Gardens, Little Beaulieu, Beaulieu Abbey, The Secret Army Exhibition, and unlimited rides on the monorail. Purchase in advance and an adult ticket is £24.50, a child is £13.50 and under 5s go free. For no additional cost, you can Gift Aid your purchase to receive an annual pass for re-entry to the National Motor Museum for the whole year.
 

The Watercress Line

Hop aboard Hampshire’s heritage railway and steam your way through the county’s glorious countryside with stunning views of the South Downs National Park.

Fares cost £23.50 for adults and £11.85 for children when booked online in advance. Children aged 4 and under travel for free. The Watercress Line’s fares give you all day unlimited travel, so you can explore each of the period heritage stations: Alresford, Ropley, Medstead & Four Marks, and Alton.


New Forest Activities

For the ultimate outdoorsy day out, book an experience with New Forest Activities. Families, couples, individuals and groups of all ages and abilities can partake in a range of water-based and land activities led by expert outdoor instructors. On the Beaulieu River, canoeing starts at £25 for adults and £15 for children, and land-based activities like archery start at £24 for adults and £17 for children.


Golf at Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl

Tee off at Boundary Lakes, Hilton Southampton - Utilita's par-69 parkland golf course set in the background of the home of Hampshire cricket. The course is designed with USGA standard greens, and has scenic fairways, fully equipped facilities including a pro shop, custom-fitting studio, and practice pod. An 18-hole round of golf costs from £25 per person.


Hambledon Vineyard

Located in the beautiful South Downs National Park, Hambledon Vineyard is one of England’s leading sparkling wine producers and the oldest commercial vineyard in England.

You can visit the 200-acre vineyard, walk through the historical vineyards, see the state-of-the-art winery (the only one of its kind in the UK) and explore Hambledon’s underground cellars cut directly into perfect white chalk. A vineyard and winery tour and tasting is £25.


Hattingley Valley Vineyard

This purpose-built, eco-friendly winery in rural East Hampshire, is now one of the most advanced wineries in the world, producing some remarkable English wines. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour and tasting experience at Hattingley Valley for £25 per person.


Calshot Activities Centre

Action enthusiasts are spoilt for choice at the super sporty Calshot Activities Centre. There are multiple experiences to choose from for all budgets. Try the sailing experience for £32, the windsurfing experience for £38, or the kayak experience for £25.


Bombay Sapphire Distillery

For the ultimate cocktail-making experience, shake things up with an interactive cocktail mixology session at the iconic Bombay Sapphire home in Hampshire where the gin cocktail masterclass with discovery experience costs from £45.


Highclere Castle

The magnificent Highclere Castle – famed for its starring role in Downton Abbey – is only open to the public on selected dates throughout the year so be sure to book in advance to secure your opportunity to see this fabulous Hampshire stately home.  A Castle, Egyptian Exhibition and Gardens ticket costs £29 for an adult and £16 for a child.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

There is a whole fleet of world-famous ships to explore at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the ultimate explorer ticket unlocks unlimited access for a whole year to all attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for £44 (or £29 for kids).


Paultons Park

Visitors travel from far and wide to enjoy a day at Paultons Park – the UK’s number 1 family theme park rated on Google.
