Close to the historic cathedral city of Winchester, and surrounded by fragrant lavender, Long Barn is situated on a site, which, since the Middle Ages, was used to pen herds of sheep for the Alresford Sheep Fair, hence ‘The Old Sheep Fair’ address. Lavender now grows where once as many as 16,000 sheep huddled, and Long Barn are proud to link with Alresford’s trading history. Long Barn: home, garden store and cafe have been a favoured destination in the pretty, bustling market town’s history since 2009.
Recently the original oak barn was extended . They Gathered a raft of craftspeople – designers, artists, furniture makers, sign writers, builders and carvers, to create a convivial space to tell the Long Barn story: ” Through our love of the English countryside, we are always looking to bring our customers a seasonally selected range of stylish and inspiring goods for the home and garden that sit comfortably next to our own-grown range ”
Well known for making their own brand of lavender goods from their annual crop, and faithful in the respect for provenance, we source makers to offer handcrafted collections for the considered home. The Barn also plays host to events throughout the year that celebrate the Seasons in their fullness. Visitors will find gardening, homewares, gifts, vintage and food all now under one, slightly longer roof.
