Flying Scotsman Visits the Watercress Line

Excitement is building at the Watercress Line as it gears up to welcome the record-breaking Flying Scotsman, the most famous steam locomotive in the world for the first time.
In February 2020, York’s National Railway Museum owned, exquisite 97-tonne A3 class locomotive will be visiting the Watercress Line and allowing visitors to travel behind her on 14th and 29th February, and 1st, 7th and 8th March 2020 with additional Flying Scotsman experiences available at other times.
Tickets to ride on the Flying Scotsman are now sold out. Running Day Rover Tickets are still available. Tickets allow unlimited travel on all trains EXCEPT Flying Scotsman. You can hop on and off the trains throughout the day and capture the glorious Flying Scotsman as she steams up and down the line from Alresford to Alton!
Engineering, Carriage and Boiler Shop viewing galleries will be open from 9am to 4.30pm. The Education Room will be open and free 'make and take' Flying Scotsman activities will be available from 10am to 4pm.

At Alresford Station, our West Country Buffet will be open for hot and cold food and drinks and the gift shop in the Old Goods Shed will be selling fabulous gifts.
